"I'm first to the Empire, and last to the Nobles. I bend no knee to the King or Warchief."

–Telriah Embershield

Physical Description Edit

An ever present beauty, even at a young age while at court, Telriah possesses traits adherent to what most would expect of a Quel'dorei. She is slim, yet holding curves in the right places. Yet, the most interesting feature is the combination of her very pale complexion, often leading some to think she's sickly, and her pale-silver hair.

Her face contains high cheek bones, a small nose, and ruby-red full lips, yet her golden glowing eyes draw the most attention. The hair gifted to her by her families genetics, a pale-silver coloration, cascades down, partly over her shoulders to her chest, and the rest down her back. Curly, elegant, well cared for.

And yet, like most Quel'dorei, her frame was slim, yet curvaceous at the same time, maintaining a moderate sized bust, and hips that are in ratio to it, in an hourglass-esque form that allows a smooth stride despite any armor she may be wearing, or the longest of dresses with trailing.

One evident thing that breaks up the beauty she holds is the scar that runs down her left eye, however, due to the nature of her glowing eyes, it's unknown whether or not she is blind in that eye. Aside from this, it's unknown if she has any noteworthy scars, due to her always covering the entirety of her body.

Personality & Mentality Edit

In a short summary, Telriah holds compassion at her highest priority, for her people that is. Her friends, her family, her loved ones. She would do all she can within her power to keep them safe.

However, when it comes to treason, she has no regard for the well being of traitors. Those who would dare raise arms against her within her own lands, and against her people, deserve death.

History Edit

Birth of an Autarch Edit

Born on June 26th, -130 E.C. to the ruling parents of Quel'Anaris, Telriah was the youngest, now middle, child of Grand Autarch Arzalen, and Lady Lyestra Embershield of Quel'Anaris. The youngest of two older sisters, Ceanne and D'torina, she was the least likely to be given the title of Heir Apparent for Quel'Anaris.

Trained initially in the arts of the bow and blade, at the age of 14, by Eridan Silverwood, then Ranger-Lord of Quel'Anaris, she soon discovered her natural affinity for the Light, something her sister, D'torina shared, and then offered to mentor her in her abilities. Frowned upon, but not forsaken from her parents, she was allowed to train under her sister.

But, only she could mentor her so much, and soon, was forced to pass her onto Dame Leariah Sunglaive, a Knighted woman who served under the Knights of Embershield. Under Leariah she had foregone the martial training most Paladins would be given, since she had already been trained in her younger years with the sword, shield and bow. Rather, she opted for more clerical training, aspiring to become a Battle-Cleric.

Finest of Loves Edit

At approximately seventy years old, Telriah was courted by a Quel'dorei noble from Quel'thalas Proper, Maethedir Aldaloth. His attempts at courting her worked, given the blessing to do so by her father, Arzalen. Many walks through forests, fine private dinners, and picnics outside of his families own estate would lead to their eventual marriage, and the House of Aldaloth being brought into the House of Embershield.

It would be this marriage that lead to Telriah's firstborn child, Garylath Embershield, who had a mane of fiery red hair and tanner skin, resembling his father more than his mother. At a near instant, after being born, Maethedir requested that Telriah stay at his estate to rest and care for the child, away from Embershield lands. After three weeks to properly recover, reluctantly, she agreed to the request, traveling North from Quel'Anaris to the Aldaloth Estate in Eversong.

There, she raised Garylath alongside Maethedir, due to Maethedir being an heir, his father still alive and watching over the Aldaloth family affairs. Telriah would go to raise Garylath much like she was, preferring him to train with a sword and bow from the young age of ten, something Maethedir agreed to.

Telriah herself however, would later choose to take up training as a member of a cavalry division within the Silvermoon Army, learning how to utilize and fight with a lance, and cavalry tactics. To this day, she still prefers a good ol' fashion Cavalry Charge, rather than just masses of infantry.

Years passed by, and their life was a peaceful one, graced by yet another child, Shaylin, who in her childhood had a calling for the arcane, rather than the Light or archery like her mother and son had. Over the years, she had grown into a young woman quite capable of being an accomplished spellblade. Telriah suggested she should enlist within the Spellbreakers, but Shaylin was content in life with being a spellblade.

But the couple did not stop with Shaylin; They were content to try for a second son, and approximately thirty years prior to the Second War, they had conceived another child, whom Telriah had hoped would be their second son.

Over time, however, she requested to return to Quel'Anaris, to live with her parents and raise the child there for the first few years, under the eye of several expert martial trainers, such as Eridan Silverwood, and Leariah Sunglaive. But once she did return, she was put to work by her father as a steward, to learn to rule and know the ins-and-outs of running a small nation.

It had put stress on her, and nearly killed the child prior to its birth, and would have done so had Leariah Sunglaive not intervened and told Lothin, her father, to remove her workload and have her relax, as a pregnant woman should. Eventually, she did give birth, to a squalling baby girl, who looked much like her, but also, much like another man that was not her husband. Nobody tried to piece together this fact, and, her child was safe for the moment.

She had named her Teldranas, and from that day forth, knew she would be the child she'd charge with picking up her duties, should she fail herself.

The Second War Edit

Initially, the onset of the Second War was terrifying news to those of Quel'Anaris, as their home was always safe from invaders such as the Trolls. Telriah herself, hearing the news that her people would be involved, made her way to Quel'Anaris, and requested from her father that she lead a cavalry regiment from the Quel'Anarian Military.

With permission granted, the 41st Cavalry Regiment was put under her command, and she made way to Lordaeron. Initially, her and the 41st were to be placed under command of Alleria Windrunner, but, after initial refusal to utilize her cavalry, Alleria re-directed Telriahs regiment to Lord Frederick Blackwood, then a Commander of the Alliance of Lordaeron's military.

Under Frederick, Telriah and her cavalry provided a massive tilt in favor of the Alliance, with the Orcish Horde branding the 41st as the "Demonic Horsemen". It is a name she still utilizes to this day when asked about her time in the Alliance, with older veterans remembering such a name.

Alas, as with all wars, casualties do come, and often times on both sides. While the 41st Cavalry Legion did put up heavy casualties amongst the Orcish Horde within the first few months of the Second War, the 41st lost approximately three-fourths of its numbers over the entire course of the War.

Once the Orcish Horde had finally been demolished, Telriah departed to Quel'Anaris, to release the remaining men she had from the 41st Legion to the Quel'Anarian military fully, and made her way North once more, to the Aldaloth estate.

After the foray to Aldaloth Estate, she made her way back down to Lordaeron, to aid with the tail end of the war as it began to draw to a close. She was following an intelligence report that stated there was a small Orc force in Hillsbrad, with several captured ballistae from various garrisons that were raided.

Telriah led her force, a company of footmen, cavalry and archers, to destroy the ballistae and the Orcs, in the battle known as the Battle of the Sterling Stream. Unfortunately, Telriah and her entire Company, save for three footmen, were wiped out due to the interference of the Infinite Dragonflight. However, later on, Kelstriadormu, a dragon of the Bronze Dragonflight sent to replace her and rectify the situation, enlisted the aid of four people; Artanis Starhawk, Alainysia Addington, Marcus Kilbrook and Ryon Stanner. With their aid, they managed to save the actual Telriah, and left Kelstriadormu in the past to keep history correct, whilst the younger Telriah was brought forward to the present.

Prophecies Edit

In the past few years, Telriah has been told many prophecies concerning her, and her future. While some may not come true, some already have been proven.

Rotted rose, golden petals darkening to pustule black -- yes, this I see. A shield rising out of the sun, but its eclipsed features darken with rot. You, Telriah Embershield, you I see, features contorting with poison.

Sindorel Felclar II

While a chilling fortune telling of her future, this prophecy had already happened when the Legion of the Damned came forth, and infested her with shadows, causing her to becoming a literal shadow of her former self, leaving her riddled with doubt, anger, hatred and other emotions opposite of her.

Sun rising, yet dropping low. Fields of green turn to ash, and waters of blue turn only to red. Where once she stood, bodies stand slaughtered. And she stands atop a mighty ship, flanked by her lieutenants, demonic races on either side. It is this, Lady Embershield, that will doom Azeroth. Not the war between Alliance or Horde.

Eldriel Voidwind and her vision of Azeroths downfall.

Religion & Beliefs Edit

O' Kelendri, your faithful asks that you bestow upon my blade the cleansing spell- That you cleanse it of all taint, blood, of the sins of our enemies. Your faithful asks for your forgiveness for striking down your enemies, and that she may continue to do so in your name. Fals tor di Talnu, fen shu Kelendri.

Telriah, performing the cleansing ritual.

Whilst publicly, Telriah retains a constant front of being faithful to the Church of the Holy Light, her beliefs have, since the Third War onwards, been to the Cult of Kelendri, the faith and religion of Quel'Anaris. The Goddess Kelendri is said to bestow upon her followers who retain faith the power of the Light, Fire, or Arcane, and to a lucky few, all three at once.

The primary distinction from Kelendri and the Light is that it is common for all soldiers who follow the Cult of Kelendri to cleanse their blades in a ritual every night when or if they have killed someone. It is said that a dirty blade, with the blood of an enemy, will leave the blade tainted. Furthermore, soldiers and nobles alike may not pick up anothers blade if they had fallen in combat. Some rumor that they hear whispers of the dead upon doing so- But it is not known if this is true or not.

Items of Interest Edit

  • Libram of the Guardians - The Libram you most often see Telriah wearing at her waist is a item sacred to her, but it is a recent addition to her unique array of personal items. This Libram retains the original red and gold coloration of the one she used to carry around, but, unlike the old one, this contains no prayers or Light-based writings. Rather, six of the two hundred pages are filled, each one containing a different rune that has sealed in the six souls of the Knights of Embershield, who showed extraordinary valor during the Third War.. The souls were corrupted by the Legion of the Damned, then returned to rest by the Protectorate. Telriah now protects them, but she can call upon them for advice at any time she needs.
  • Trill of the Kian Ifetch - A bastard sword named in traditional Quel'Anarian Thalassian dialect, the name translates into Blade of the Flaming Void- It's a bastard sword she normally wields with only one hand, preferring to use her other hand for another weapon, or to block blows with her modified gauntlet. The blade itself is made of a red-iron alloy, with the hilt being made up of brass discs wrapped in a golden-colored leather. The crossguard is made up of white trillium, and shaped into a falcons wings.
  • Ironbane, Will of the Dominion - A sword made of ember iron, the Will of the Dominion is the famed blade that was allowed Telriah to strike down the enemies she has faced, and keep the Dominion of Quel'Anaris, and the Protectorate, safe. A longsword, the weapon holds a hilt made of brass discs wrapped in red leather, with the crossguard in the shape of a falcons head and its wings, with rubies as the eyes.
  • Balshar, Last Shard of Embershield - A shard of the fabled 'Embershield' that sprouts her families name, Balshar is the shard she holds onto, incase one wished to steal the remainder and reforge it for their own use. Made of ember iron, and infused with the essence of fire, arcane or holy light from seven previous Embershield family members, this shard is only one of twenty eight needed to reforge the shield.

Loyalties Edit

Telriah, in all her mindfulness, is in a state of indecisiveness for whether or not she should pledge her people to a faction, or remain as their own faction. In her own right, she is pleased with what her predecessor and body double, Kelstriadormu, had managed to form whilst she was dead, prior to the venture to retrieve her prior to death at the hands of the Infinite Dragonflight.

She feels that pledging to one side, blue, or red, would mean death one way or another, and for the moment, refuses to pledge her allegiance to the Alliance or Horde.

Friends & Enemies Edit

Ailos Lightsworn Edit

Telriah's hatred of the man spurns out nothing but severe disrespect towards the name 'Lightsworn', due to him leaving her and his child, Teldranas, to be raised by her, and his multiple attempts to take Quel'Anaris whilst Kelstriadormu was in her place. In short, whilst Kelstriadormu may have found him a great asset, Telriah does not, and is likely to march on Quel'venoraal to take it for herself rather than have the man as a vassal.

Zaria Blackmoore Edit

A woman Telriah has been warned to be wary of, due to her Alliance patriotism, but also her tendencies to slip to neutrality. There had been somewhat of an air of love between Kelstriadormu and Zaria, but, due to recent events, Telriah is completely unaware of it.

Elbert van Doomray Edit

Having been told numerous times since she had come to the present thanks to the [Redacted] involving the [Redacted], Telriah holds animosity towards Elbert, but knows she can do nothing to him due to his oath and joining of the Duchess' Watch.

Ashton Stark Edit

Telriah has nothing to really think of about Ashton, but, she has been told he is a 'rather nice chap' by her advisors and allies.

Quotes Edit

  • "If you're reading this, know one thing... We are here to serve, we are here to defend. For Protectorate, and For Duty." --Telriah, in a letter to herself.
  • "My shield was forged to be unbreakable against the coming darkness, my blade forged in defiance of destiny. This will be my legacy to a world I shall defend, and a final gift to those I failed." --Telriah's Oath.
  • "The queen is but a pawn of her own game of thrones, much like a knight to his king, to checkmate." --Telriah, on the notion as to why even queens don't have full power.
  • "The silver of a hand shows but a glimpse of the true power of a sword."
  • "To prefer one race over the other shows preference and favoritism. To prefer one soldier over another of the same experience shows favoritism as well, despite not having any abstract qualities aside from personality and profile. Do not make the mistake of enacting favoritism. It will make things harder for you."
  • "You wish for me to forgive treason? These four men attempted to murder my family, and present anarchy over Quel'Anaris. Treason is not forgiven lightly. No. Burn them all. Show the rest a lesson."
