The siege of Stonegarde was the final battle in a long campaign, during which the Alterac Syndicate assaulted the Marwyn and Harlow lands, eventually resulting in the destruction of Stonegarde Keep and the village of Alden's Rise.
The Battle of Alden's Rise[]
Under the leadership of Darren Longshadow, the Alterac Syndicate struck under cover of darkness, slaughtering hundreds while the village slept. The lord of Alden's Rise was captured and brutally tortured before his holdfast and the surrounding village was put to the torch.
The Siege of Stonegarde[]
Longshadow and his forces lay siege to Stonegarde for two weeks and after they failed to fell the walls with cannon fire, began riding into the village and slaughtering the citizens in the hope of forcing Joren Marwyn to open his gates and meet them in battle. Unwilling to leave his people defenseless, Joren led his men through the gates and battle was joined in the center of the village on the 12th of May, 620 K.C.
While Joren assaulted the main Syndicate force, a second, smaller force assaulted Stone Manor, slaying Joren's wife and putting the entire household to the sword. Liam Marwyn arrived with half his father's forces just in time to prevent the smaller force from joining the others and slew several of the syndicate men in single combat before evacuating the village.
On the morning of May 16th, Stonegarde's walls were breached and Joren fell in single combat against Darren Longshadow. The castle was put to the torch while Liam Marwyn evacuated the survivors and brought them to the small area of Stromgarde City that had been reclaimed.
