The Lord High Justiciar, often simply known as the Justiciar, was a position within the Royal Court of the Kingdom of Stromgarde. It was the most powerful appointed position in Kingdom of Stromgarde, second only to the King or Queen in authority and responsibility. The Justiciar was the Monarch's closest advisor, appointed and authorized to make decisions in the Monarch's name. The rank was equivalent to that of the Regent of Stromgarde, and often, the Justiciar would become Regent upon the absence (usually death) of the Monarch if the heir wasn't old enough to be Monarch.
Multiple members of the House of Montrose have held the position of Lord High Justiciar, most notably Reginald Montrose, during the entirety of Thoras Trollbane's reign.
