Longsword

A Longsword is a long, two-handed (or sometimes one-handed) sword. Longswords are known to be employed throughout the armies of Azeroth. Excellent when cleaving through foes, a longsword can also be used for thrusting. A favored weapon of knights or cavaliers, longswords offer exceptional range, more so than their broadsword or short sword cousins, while still allowing a lighter weight, unlike that of their great sword counterparts. While considered a different classification by some, a sub type of longsword known as a Bastard Sword or Hand-and-a-half Sword also exists. Typically attributed as a middle ground in between the length of a short sword and that of a longsword, bastard swords offer a longer length than short swords and even less weight than that of a full fledged longsword, but are not differentiated enough to be classified as a completely different type of sword.
