"These are the holy men of our kingdom. Their spiritual leadership keeps both the people and the troops of Azeroth focused upon our mission of everlasting peace. Their ability to channel the spirit of humanity through their bodies makes them truly wondrous, and stories of their ability to heal the sick and injured, as well as being able to affect the perceptions of others, are miraculous in nature. The transgressions against Humanity by the Orcs have forced them to devise ways to defend themselves, but their true path remains the healing of mens' souls." ~ Warcraft: Orcs and Humans

History[]

The Holy Order of Northshire Clerics was an order of priests within Northshire Abbey before the First War. The priests of this order helped to spread the message of the Holy Light to those of the Kingdom of Azeroth. Though, during the First War, these priests had offered aid to the Kingdom. Under the leadership of the Archbishop Alonsus Faol (a noteworthy Cleric at the time), the brave priests of the Holy Order fought valiantly with healing magic and devastating powers of the Light. Though they were not battle-ready in the slightest, and were slaughtered by the Orcish Hordes.

After the victory of the Orcish Horde in the first war, Archbishop Alonsus Faol, along with his apprentice Uther the Lightbringer trained a new breed of holy warriors, those who had unmatched ability in wielding of the light, as well as the combat prowess of a warrior. Thus sparking the birth of the Order of the Silver Hand.

Currently, the Holy Order of Northshire Clerics has forged itself into a monastic priory of Clerics, Priests and Paladins that tend to the affairs of both the Abbey and the humble valley in which it presides. The Northshire parish continues to devote itself to the mission professed by their forefather; the healing of mens' souls.

Speculation[]

It is believed that the Holy Order of Northshire Clerics once believed in a deity, and had a monotheistic belief in a 'God', and that perhaps the world was made by one all powerful being. Multiple accounts of members of the Order can be found referencing God, or the Angels, as well as references to Hell.
