The Age of Mortals was marked by the reign of Garrosh Hellscream, a controversial figure and convicted war criminal.
The Age of Mortals is the present historical era of Azeroth, beginning with the Fall of Deathwing. Since the opening of this age, the war between the Grand Alliance and New Horde has reached a boiling point. At present, there is an uneasy armistice between the two factions, following catastrophic loss of life and irreparable desecration of sacred lands. The era saw the re-opening of Pandaria, a land which had not been visited by outsiders since the Age of a Hundred Kings. It was preceded by the Age of Chaos.
